I tried mixing a flame and a pygmy in my 75. I had to seperate them and put the pygmy in my 55. The flame was very aggressive towards the pygmy.

I had a coral beauty and a flame angel in a 115 that got along ok until the flame went carpet surfing.
I'm going to be setting up a 180 within the month and I plan on having the coral beauty, a flame, and one other centropyge (possibly a lemonpeel). the coral beauties are extremely peaceful from my experience. the flame was a little more boisterous, but not too much.
I think the key is to get angels that are very different colors from each other, try to put them in at the same time or the more peaceful ones first, and try to make sure they're around the same size.

I forgot, at the same time that I had the flame and coral beauty together, I also had 2 dwarf angels of the other family, the Apolemichthys (Apolemichthys and Centropyge are the 2 dwarf families). I will NEVER again own another member of the Apolemichthys family as long as I am in this hobby....they are nowhere close to being as hardy as they get credit for.
one of the ones I had was the Indian Yellowtail and the other was a Bluespot Angel. they both died of ich. however, I don't think the flame or coral beauty even recognized these 2 as being angelfish, so there was not a problem.

I had a variation of the same question only more specific. Would a Coral Beauty and a LemonPeel get along ok? I was really wanting 2 Angels but I'm not very familiar with them yet.
Sorry, didn't mean to partially hijack your thread richie1742

A lemonpeel can certainly have an attitude. Again, a lot will come down to tank size...but sometimes even in larger systems, it just doesn't work.

he probably went carpet surfing because the coral beauty was chasing/bullying him, so he jumped straight out of the tank.

Maybe, but I doubt it...IME a Flame will always be more aggressive than a CB....I have had mine now together for nearly 5 years....the Flame will sometimes remind the CB that shes in there but never any harm.

My flame was very aggressive, even though it was the last fish added.
