Anyone ever put Finger Algae in Tank?

I bought some finger algae today at my LFS. It was very inexpensive and I thought it would make for some nice textured hiding places and if nothing else maybe someone would like to eat it too. My Blenny likes to hang out in it and the emerald crab and hermit crab seem to love it. They have done a lot of picking at it but it doesn't have any chunks taken out of it like I expected from them. My Tang took a liking to it as soon as the the lights went out too. I put some in my soon to be seahorse tank as well as they seem to be nice hitching posts. Does anyone have any reasons that I should not have this in my tank and is it safe for everyone to be munching on? Thanks!
