I know this is not good news, but I am just letting you know, as I did in the other thread, that baby clown triggers have a severly low survival rate in aquariums. I have first-hand experience with many baby clown triggers and I know this to be true.

ha .. wow .. that really lifted my spirit .. any one else?
but seriously .. yeah I know .. but I wasn't sure if I could get it from a different source from you then things might be different .. I guess I'm just tanking a chance on this one .. because I don't want to get an adult Trigger becuase it would likely cause havoc in my tank .. and I would definetly make sure the trigger is eating and in obvious good health before getting him ..
now .. back to the good news

A local LFS picked up four of them and they did great, i have one and he is growing by leaps and bounds. One is still in the store and the other two sold right away. I have him with several types of fish in a mixed fish, LR reef aquarium (135 gal). He has to compete with a med sized purple tang and niger trigger as well as a med large naso. I wouldnt have purchased one larger due to their aggressiveness but he should be fine in the tank since he was the smallest and will grow into it and with the fish in the tank. BUT i am not an expert and the LFS here is very good. I watched to make sure I got the one that was the most agressive in feeding which should mean that they are will fair better than one that isnt. Also he is in a fairly large tank for his size giving him ample room to roam and hide if he needs to. Good luck.

He is with a purple tang (med), niger trigger (med), naso (med lg), kole tang aka yellow eye tang(med), yellow coris wrasse (sm), pair of clarkii clowns (med), pink skunk clown (sm), scooter blenny (sm), snowflake eel (med), neon goby (sm), sand polyps , green polyps, green button polyps, nepthia, red and blue mushrooms, ricoria, etc. and he doesnt pay them any attention.
But like I said, I am no expert but he is doing well. I bought him at only about one inch long.

When I had my clown trigger he was 4-5" easily. He was with an adult Imperator, lemon peel angel, niger trigger, purple dottyback, anthias, and a mandarin. He did great, the lemon peel would actually beat the clown trigger up. I love clown triggers, but I also respect how large they grow, and how much of an attitude they can have. There are alot of people on these boards with negative experiences with clown triggers.

My snowflake was added at the same time but is much bigger than the trigger and because there is plenty of room they leave each other alone.

I got one a couple of weeks ago he was about 2 inch. and I tell you that this little guy must have went through a nice little growth spert cuz he is FAT and getting bigger im guessing already close to an inch and a half....he has shown a few signs of aggressive but I had a niger trigger that was FAR more aggressive then he was....I am very worried about when he gets bigger but I tell you one thing this little guy has grown BIG TIME on me.....I didnt want to get him but ***** had a manager special for 35 dollars down from 120 I got him before he even went into the tank.....and I love him, but always watch for signs.....im no expert but he hasnt killed anything in my tank i feed them twice a day just so i know that if he gets hungry he is not gonna take out one of my other ones.....i would get one as long as you have a tank bigger then 100 gallons for now but these guys get huge so i hope you have something ready or at least plans for something

it's Melly...
it was in the 125 before it became a full reef tank. and he was added last. I actually wish he ate the purple dottyback, that fish was horrible, I think he was more aggressive then all the fish put together. He would steal food from everyone.

haha .. really? .. that's odd .. I had a purple dottyback in my 90 gallon reef and it was one of the shyest fish in the tank .. except for when I first put the Bi-color dottyback in .. the purple would mess with the dottyback for about a week and then I couldn't get them apart from each other .. you would've thought that they were the same species and that they were a mated pair becuase they even lived in the same hole after that ..
but back to clown triggers ..
that's amazing that you got a clown trigger for $30 Lroman .. can I get a full tank list?
