anyone have a batfish ?

just wondering about someone else's experience w/ a bat.I have had one a little over a year gettin big and eats an awful lot.I think its an orbit

I have lots of experience with bats. They are one of my favorite fish!! There are a few things to know about them. They get BIG!! Most get over 12-14" in height, no matter how big your tank is. In my opinion they need nothing smaller than a 100 g tank and the bigger the better. They eat almost anything. The Orbits are the easiest to keep followed by the tiera's. Do NOT ever get a pinnatus as they are very hard to keep in captivity. Most die but I'm sure a few people have stories of having success.
Keep them with fish who do not nip fins as these fish cannot protect themselves in any way. Their main defense is their size. Good luck and write back if you have any other questions!!

cool.I was starting to think I had the only batfish..this one is about 15-16 in. high and 8-12 in long.it is kept in a 125 gal w/ a dogface 5-6 in,a yellow tang 4 in.2 coral cats 5 in,a lunar wrasse 5 in..seems to eat about 10-15 med. pieces of krill, very cool fish w/ a pesonality like my cowfish in another tank..thanks for the reply,what do you have
