Or heard of one? LOL

~$500
It magnifies critters in your tank really large so you can see all your micro life in your tank. It also has some equipment you can attach to it so you can take pictures of the microscopic life forms of your tank. A really neat add-on if you are into photography - but it's also neat to have to diagnose pests and diseases on corals.
Anyways, just thought I would share.

Looks cool and I can imagine me sitting there for hours staring endlessly into it, then being shocked to death on how everything appears to have shrunk when i put the unit away.Lol
Why not just get a Portal like I have? $75 bucks.

Hi Seth,
Do you have this contraption? I almost purchased it for the very rreasons you listed but after looking real close at how to use it...it looks you have to be like 3 inches from said object to get a clear picture on the computer screen. Since it is not an underwater gizmo and most of what I would want to see is not right on the front glass, I passed it up. If I'm wrong let me know, because it sounds awesome if it can really be used for what I want...in a fish tank.

I have absolutely zero first hand experience. I saw it mentioned in a thread on another forum, however, and thought I might fish around here for people who may have one. It would make it really easy to see stuff.
It says it has adjustable lenses that can see like 12x magnification. I'm not sure if that is very powerful or not. It probably is though. I looked up some pictures of life taken by one of these scopes and they seemed pretty dang good quality. Then again, I couldn't tell you if it was 3" away from the glass or not.

12X is like a fancy camera...I like the one that will go as high as 2000x or 1000x...starting at 12x. My little digital camera will go 16x.... Micoscopes are cool, I always enjoyed them....LOL..Not for $500.00, I had a micrscope for years but not a fancy one to transfer to the computer to see it on screen, like in the virus movies.
I liked the hand held one Kiefers is talking about because it shows up on the computer. However it can't go into the tank. Doesn't mean it won't have some really cool uses but not for what I wanted it for.
