Anyone have a "Mono"?

Hi all-
LFS had a fish I never saw before called a Mono Argentus. The guy who works there (who I think I can trust) says it is usually a brackish water fish, but it does fine in salt water. It is really a pretty fish- sort of like a freshwater angle with silver, black, and yellow markings. I looked it up and sure enough, the info I found says it can indeed live in saltwater. Just not sure about whether to get it becuase I never saw it before in any lfs. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Any experience?
Thanks- Jeff:confused:

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. They are brackish fish, but can live in salt if properly acclimated. They are pretty hardy fish and do well in f/o or fowlr setups. I don't think they are reef safe. Bo

grouperhead's right on the money... definitely not reef safe, but a great fish none the less... gets around 6-8" (top to bottom, like fw angels) I believe... slow growers, need to be acclimated very slowly as theyre quite sensitive to changes...

Another thing, I think they a pretty adept at jumping as well. A while back my lfs had a gorgeous one, about 7" tall. They had it for about 2 weeks, and then one night it jumped out of the tank and died. It was in a tank alone, so nothing was harassing it. Make sure your tank is covered good. Bo
