Anyone have MH?

Iam thinking of getting an ice probe chiller and a 50 or 70w MH for my new 15g. But iam just not sure. Its just more money...

70 watt DE bulb.. only thing i can think of let alone know of, you could go with either a bunch of PC or VHO

I'd advise against the 70w MH. To be honest, after a great deal of research into getting MH over a nano, it became apparent that anything lower than 150 is actually less that what VHO can put out.

I don't think you can buy vho's to put over a 15g. becuase they are so short.

I have a 10K 70w DE on my 10 & like it a lot. A 4" fan keeps the temp. down. It's in an air conditioned office so that helps.

Actually, the do make VHO in 20" bulb lenght, but it's very rarely seen.
BUT...
If you have a 15H, which is 24" long I believe then you may add VHO.

I think a 15g high is only 20'' long because a 20g high is 24'' long.

with a 15 gallon, your options are very limited to lighting . . .
I was not recommending VHO, I was just pointing out that a 70w MH puts out less light than a comprable VHO. If you're gonna do MH, do it right and get at least 150.
With 15 gallons, you are limited to PC.

I just ordered a 150W setup for my 10. The 70W gives you the glimmer effect and I do have an SPS frag that's doing well, but for a clam or more SPS I think the 150's the way to go.
