OK....the title is my question...........the 2 pump wavemaker is $99.95 and the 4 pump is $119.95

These Wavemakers are designed to offer you a solution to set your powerheads to come on intermittently so as they dont just push the water against each other and hence lose a lot of their current in the process. This means you are able to produce a more realistic current coming either from each side of the tank or if you wish just from separate angles from one side of your fish tank.
Due to the design of the actual wavemaker pods they are able to give a much more wide, soft and dispersed current compared to some of the more powerful and directed models available. This should in effect be a much better solution for your corals as these wavemakers are less one directional and should then be able to cover more of your coral.
Wavemakers are perfect for helping to eliminate "dead spots" in your marine tank aquarium. This is very important to the soft corals or hard corals in your tank, as the waste that they produce during respiration needs to be carried away from the tissue and to your filtration system. Lack of water circulation can cause the coral to suffocate, while unidirectional current can cause the coral to become irritated and, thus to close up. Wave makers help to eliminate these problems and enhance the health and growth of your tank inhabitants.
The wavemaker controller has the following features:
Feeding mode: Pauses wave makers for 10 minutes while you feed your fish

Power options: 1% - 100% power control dials

2 PUMP:
Day mode example:
Pump A will start for a set time and stop then then Pump B will start for a set time and stop. The cycle is then repeated. The pump speed on time of each pump can be individually adjusted to suit your tank. The time period each pump is on can be adjusted from 7 seconds up to 2 & 1/2 minutes.

Night mode example
Pump A will start for a set time then stop, there is a 3 minute pause then Pump B will start and run for its set time then stop. The cycle repeats until the controller is returned to day mode.
4 PUMP:
Timer rotation A:
Pump A and D will run for the time specified on pump A's timer. Once this time is up pumps B and C will run for the time specified on pump B's timer - after this the unit will cycle back to pumps A and D and continue.
Timer rotation B:
Pump A will run for its set time then stop, Pump B will run for its set time then stop, Pump C will run for its set time then stop, Pump D will run for its set time then stop - then the rotation will start again with pump A and continue.
Features:
Individually controllable wave sizes and pump on / off time from 7 seconds
to 2 & 1/2 minutes for each pump

Sorry Meowzer.....There description is rather vague.....What is the flow rate of these pumps....They state will handle large tanks.....Also the description of shutting the pumps off so they don't crash against each other.....Also very questionable.....That is what creates "chaotic" flow.....
