I have a Skiller 400 which says its a protein skimmer and aerating power filter in one
What do you think
My 55 g tank with live rock is 4 weeks old and every time a adjust the vaule to let air in the skimmer.. it makes tiny bubbles which I have read are bad. I also have read that it might take 8 or more weeks untill the protein skimmer even starts to do anything. So should I wait and see if the micro bubbles go away...... or
Should I invest in something better?
I have a coral life lighting system and one max 900 power jet. Thinking of getting another power jet. and what do you think about a moon light set up.... I want to do this right.
I am trying to learn as much as I can so my tank is a happy healthy one

I have a moon light on my 46 and it is cool as all. Every thing really comes awake at night. what kind of light do you have? and as far as power heads go I would add one more to get the right flow. Sorry I dont know any thing about the skimmer

I personally have never had a skilter, but all I have read about them is that they are pretty much worthless. A coralife ss65 would work great on that size tank...IMO

I've seen the skilter in use, and IMHO you'd be better served investing in something alittle better.

I didnt mean for you to take it wrong. I have never had one as I said, just what i read on here. I like the coralife's because I know personally that thye work and they have a great reputation. Didn't mean to offend :notsure:

I would opt for a sump setup and by no means I'm not a Coralife fan or big on any of their products.....The only thing decent I like with Coralife is there MH setups, which are really nice, but they have issues with there fans though......Skimmer wise I would recommend either an ASM or AquaC.......
