Anyone know anything about bat rays?

I'm in the process of building a 10' X 5' X 30 inch deep oval shark pond. I saw bat rays on another website and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Would my pond be large enough? What kind of water temps. do they prefer? As of right now I have two smoothhounds going in the pond.
Thanks

well they get HUGE you need about a 7-10,000 gallon pond to keep them.. they must be quarantined very wqell as there is only one other fish that is usually captured with more parasites than the bat ray, so if it is wild caught your looking at a long and good quarantine time which means you would need another HUGE enclosure for that and extensive treatment and medications to rid the parasites. . they aare very hardy and will reproduce in captivity. they should only be kepy one male per a few females so that the courtship desnt get out of hand since the males will bite the females pretty hard during this.
they are also known for jumping out of open enclosures in the home aquarium so a precaution must be taken for that as well
most of this came from a piece i read from micheal shaw of sea world, san diego aquarium.
the biggest side note is that they will only threive in water temps of 57-70 which means you need one heck of a chiller for this pond!!!
hope i helped

I may be mistaken, and I'm sure there are more than one species of bat ray. I think the one I'm talking about gets about 24" wing tip to wing tip. Unfortunately I'm not sure of the actual name and I may be mistaken about the size. :notsure: Definitely looks like time for more detailed research.
