How is it living there and having a tank in a high rise apartment setup? Are there local LFS? Any places you can recommend that will allow a large tank?
Thanks in advance

moving to nyc to do a paid internship for a design/architecture firm and my girlfriend of 4 years wants to go to a culinary academy to learn how to cook

I am sure a lot of people have tanks...but I most likely will not be in a penthouse next to howard stern. The 1/1 800sq/ft apartment i am looking at is $2700 per month alone. I am unsure if they permit big tanks on the higher levels due to possible water leakage...but then again, if a water pipe bursts in the wall, there will be a lot more than 150 gal to worry about...hmm...

I don't know about regulations concerning tanks but I would think a 75g or smaller would not be problem.Your going to pay how much rent? $2700 per month? That's is insane. If it's short term, maybe. If not buy something, anything. Then electric, gas, phone, cable, fish, corals, car, maybe?Shop around, look in brooklyn, maybe an apt. in a 2 family house. These are usually downstairs[first floor] and the homeowner may work with you on the tank issue.Just an idea.

I agree with you that the city is "dirty" no doubt! BUT what do you mean the PEOPLE are to? You mean dirty as in dirty tricks? OR actually PHYSICALLY dirty? I know alot of people in NYC that I definitely do NOT consider dirty.

i'm with you on that!!! the people are miserable and just plain mean, the city has a general smell and filth to it and its way too overpriced.

excuse me. there is more to NYC than manhattan i must say (as a queens native) also trust me, there's no such thing as a river that makes people nicer on one side i must say.
