Anyone recently purchased a refractometer from SWF?

I did and the plactic "lid" over the prisim wont stay on the hinge!
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Have you contacted SWF to see if they would offer a replacement? Just a suggestion.

Mine came from SWF, and it works perfectly, i.e. the lid over the prizm stays where it's supposed to. E mail them and ask if they will exchange it.

I purchased one a few weeks ago - when I took it out of the case the metal pin that holds the cover in place just fell out. I placed a bit of glue on each end after replacing the pin and have had no problems since.
Is the pin still in the hinge?

No pin. I looked at the ends to see if there was a pin but it doesnt look like that.
Does the pin fit in the center piece only?

Mine has two pins - one at each hinge for the cover piece.
I don't remember which site I purchased the device from.
