If you do this, how does it look???

I run a single 150mh over my 29 and I like it. What bulb are you going to be using? I use a 20k radium.

i have just 2 20k XMs over my 75...i dont like the 20k anymore because its too blue, very hard to get some pictures..so i'll probably go to 14k next round...i really liked when i had 14k hamiltons on my tank with nothing else...had a great tint of blue.

the best 175w bulbs are the iwasaki 15k because they supposedly put out so much more par than any other 175w bulb

I will be running 2 lamps over my tank....should I have them both turn on at the same time, or stagger them about 30 minutes apart?

14k at the min will be fine. I operated this tank with 2x14K bulbs and nothing else. Thought you were selling out and takeing break for a while? Addicting habit, huh?
I would have one come on a couple hours before the second and have the second go off couple hours after the first. More natural for the corals. have them both on for 6 hours or so together.

New 65 gal Frag tank has two 150 watt MH 14,000 K. When I placed frags from my main tank (lit with 10,000 k MH's and 420 / 460 CF's) in the frag tank I fell in love with the colors. The blue's were definatly blue, oranges and reds really popped, and the green look realy irish green not yellowish grren. At any rate yes just MH over a tank will work, and the difference between 10000k and 14000k is real! GO 14000K - IMO
