My LFS only carries Arag-Alive for live sand. This is the pre-packaged in sealed bags type of live sand. It has a "garranteed alive" date on it that is about 5 months from now (they just got some new in last week). Has anyone used this stuff. They sell it for $20 for a 20 pound bag (I can get it cheaper online, but I like to support my LFS when I can, even though they are pretty sketchy on their advice sometimes.)
Also, is 1-1.5 pounds of live sand per gallon about right? I had heard that number before, and wanted to run it by folks here.
I am going to be taking out my UGF and crushed coral sometime soon, and want to get everything squared away first.
