I saw this product on here. Anyone use this as a maintenance? Its a liquid rather than using a filter bag thing.

I guess I'd be curious how such a thing works. The granular material absorbs the phosphates out of the water... how does the liquid remove it?

most liquid phosphate removers are lanthanum (phosphate binder) which bonds the phosphate and is then skimmed or filtered out. google search lanthanum and phosphates (although you'll likely get more medical use links). they do work but less risk are involved using GFO.

Yes, I do and it works fantastic. You can't test for 2 days or you get a false positive reading...so directions say wait...%%
I used it to get the phosphates out about 3Xs over the last year, THEN
I use the purigen bag in the filter to keep it under control...

If I run out of purigen..the phosphates climb back up, and I dose the tank with with the phos buster again.
