Just wondering..........I use regular Chemi-Pure and my LFS now carries the elite. The price was way to high ($30) as apposes the the regular Chemi-pure which is about ($13).
These are my LFS prices.......which I'm sure I could do better online. Wondering if anyone thinks the elite is anything better than the Chemi regular.

Wow!! $30 for chemi-pure elite??? I only paid like $14 for mine, I believe. (not through the LFS.... online vendor)
I've never used the regular chemipure, so I really don't have anything to compare it to, but noticed that when I added the chemi-pure elite to the 3rd chamber of my 29 Biocube, the water was crystal clear! I use this in addition to purigen.
I am sure that someone else will chime in and offer you a more helpful answer!

It does polish the water nicely but it's short lived in my tank. I'm afraid to keep it any longer than a week. Not worth it for me.

I just added two units of the regular chemi-pure. How long before you notice a difference in the water clarity? How long does it last? What's different about the elite?

i use it in a canister with carbon and the drs phosphate remover before it and it has helped keep my tank mostly algae free and i have a well stocked and fed tank with sps

Right, I think its ferrous hydroxide. I've used chemi-pure in all my tank for years and love it. This type phosphate remover they've added works well; buts needs no be replaced much more often than the chemi-pure. IMO, it seems much better to stay with the original chemi=pure and use a phos remover, only as needed, in a separate media bag

They say every 4- 6 mo or so. So much depends on the load, but I change more often, depending on bio-load. BTW, I used to like to give biz to my lfs; but if you can order supplies, especially in quantity, you'll save a lot of $ buying online. I just paid less than $6 a jar for chemi-pure; and the shipping on my order wasn't much more than the sales tax I saved---not to mention the gas for the trip to the lfs...I live in the country!
