Anyone use non-aquarium style stuff?

I was wondering if anyone else out there has every used random items from the house to help in the aquarium....
If you do, post up your suggestions for others to read!
I think my most "helpful" item is womens hair claw clips, which work really good for drip acclimating anything. I use one to keep the airline tubing in the tank, and one to secure it to wherever it is dripping to. It works like a charm!
Anyone else use anything strange for the benefit of the tank?

I have a small 14G BioCube so when I make up cyclopeeze and phtoplankton I don't make a lot. I use an oral medicine dispinser from toddlers / babies medicine kit to spot feed the corals. It holds 1 tsp of fluid at a time and its perfect for dosing out 4 or 5 at a time.

I used to use a new (but unwanted) credit card, which works especially good for the rounded corals since it flexes.
