Anyone using X-10 controllers for aquarium?

I'm considering using X-10 controllers for my aquarium, and I'm wondering if anyone uses them on their powerheads. Can you use a powerhead with a lamp controller to vary the flow? Might be an interesting way of creating a wavemaker. I'm a little hesitant to set up anything using my ActiveHome interface, because it can be unpredictable. But curious to know if anyone is doing it successfully right now.

X-10 is the antichrist..
