Anyone Watch Lost Last Night?

Might be some spolier alerts in here so don't read if you don't want to know what happened!!!
So ended like I figured it would end, leaving me dazed and confused! I guess I will be going online today to see what everyone thinks happened. It appears everyone is dead so what the heck has been going on the last 6 years ... purgatory? It also seems that everyone that is dead wasn't necessarily on the plane. Does that mean Ben has been dead the entire time to? It seems like just another twist on an old idea about what happens after death. Basically the person(s) just won't let go and believe that they are dead until something finally opens their eyes. What do you think? Do exlpain!!!!

bahahaha, I told my fan wife, (me not never having ever been caught up in the show) you know how it is going to end right? They're all gonna be dead, and this whole thing was a dream, or something...And whammy I was right.

I've been speculating early on that they were dead but was hoping for something different. However, a lot of this season has been giving clues that they might be dead so I wasn't surprised. Just glad the show is over!!
Well I can hear all my co-workers talking about it right now too ...

Ben actually wasn't dead. Remember, he didn't go into the church with the rest of them. He stayed outside. If you watched the ending credits, they showed the remains of the plane lying on the beach. No structures that the 'Lost' members built, no remnants of their stay on the island. I think it was a fitting ending, and it kinda reminded me of the movie 'Sixth Sense' (I see dead people!) It wasn't until the end of the movie until Bruce Willis realized he was dead.

I was looking at Ben two different ways. One, that he is dead but just wasn't ready to leave just yet because I think he wanted to make amends with his daughter. Kind of like a second chance. Two, he might not be able to go to the "good" place everyone is going because of all the evil things he has done while on the island. I was also wondering why Penny was in the church. When did she die?

I wondered about that one as well. She wasn't on the plane that crashed.

These are some great points; I hadn't thought about the plane at the end symbolizing that they had all died at the beginning.
I was dissapointed that they didn't have an omniscient narrator at the end; like Jacob's mother or even Locke explaining some of the additional questions. Like what the island represented or was; what the light was; or maybe some of the parts of the island we never got to know about like the statue and its origins along with the temple and whoever built the original island components (like the light cave we finally got to see).
Originally I was expecting the ending to be the people stilll stuck on the island to self actualize into their sideways flash selves. Which is what at first appeared to be happening.
I thought it was unfortunate that they had to play relgion and heaven into the theme; did anyone notice the stain glass window in the church had symbols from several major world religions? From pagan themes to christian symbols. Kind of like showing that we all get to the same place in the end if we have faith?

Yep I noticed that also. Battlestar Galactica ended with religious tones also. Must be the new way to end a show.
Lost appears to have started with an idea and maybe an ending. The show did well (probably because of all the mystery involved and no answers) in season 1 so I feel that they had to start adding filler material in order to drag the show on and make money. There are so many unanswered questions and hopefully they will come out with a wrap up show with narration to at least give us what the writer’s intended for us to get out of the show.

I didn't fallow Battlestar Galactica...as for LOST
I am a very religious person and I didn’t find the last episode in the least bit religious, and I really look for that kind of thing.
The church was where Jack was going to bring his dad, making sense of the where they met up in the end. Since it was an imaginary place, the symbols meant nothing but to those attending, which came from varied and different backgrounds trying hard to honor them all. The character Jack was not a religious man, so all the symbols of religion he knew depicted in his mind meant the same thing to him.
It was a created a place to meet in Jacks mind…they were all dead from the beginning. His last thoughts were that he wanted to save them all.
I don’t think they could have come up with a better ending. It granted full closure to everything IMO.

Interesting take.
Someone said last night Matthew Fox was on Kimmel. Kimmel said that he thought the island stuff actually happened and that the other stories (the stuff happening in the states) were after death. Fox agreed but I don't even know if he really understand all of what the writers were thinking.

LOL...You watched LOST at work? I thought it was good and entertaining, I enjoyed it. It is just entertainment, if you didn’t like it, just find another channel to watch.

I just got frustrated with the show because the story was moving so slow for so long. They threw out more questions than answers. I really liked the show for the first 2 seasons and then it seemed to move at a snails pace. Then there was that one season that lasted forever. They would show a new episode then have a 3 weeks break and so on. Not sure what was going on that season. I kind of enjoyed this season and think it is very hard to have the perfect ending. It's impossible to make everyone happy.
I did like the Fringe season finale. NCIS ends this week also. I have last week recorded so I can watch the entire 2-part episode after they finish recording.

LOL…My Mom and me rented the series to get caught up, then we started watching again after the NEW ones came out. We were glued to the TV for weeks but it was good fun bonding with my Mom and discussing the show, my sister would shake her head and leave the room, the show made no sense to her.
I got the same happy bond time with my daughter over Smallville. It’s good entertainment and nothing else. It’s allot more fun with a family member to share ideas and thoughts with.

Ha! My nine year old watched LOST with us. She kept asking "why this" and "why that". I just looked at her and said "do you think I know"?

I can't believe after 6 years of great tv with mind bending plot twists they ended it in a way that left everyone confused. It would have been nice had they made it more clear. Half of the viewers believe they died in the crash and half think the island was real and the flash sideways was the purgatory. I personally was disappointed in the ending. It was like being pregnant for nine months only to give birth to a fart.

2nd that shogun......what a let down. They had so much to work with and produce the ending of all endings, and this is what they come up with? What a joke.
