So, after raising this hitchhiker from a mere few tentacles, I now need to destroy it? (Just confirming this really is Apatasia)
Thanks..

It's Aptasia. IMO the best way to keep them little suckers out is using pepprmint shrimp. Copperband butterflys are expensive very difficult to keep alive. The peppermint shrimp are very hardy and will eat detritus after they finish the aptaisia. After I had a big outbreak I tried both. The copperband didn't eat them and wasted away in a few weeks. The shrimp were in my tank for the next couple of years till I moved and had to break it down. Never saw another aptaisa that whole time. Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies.. At first I wasn't sure and was wondering why myself. I was actually hoping it just looked like it and was something else. Then I found another one on the back side.. so I started researching more.. Then I found two smaller ones next to it and figured it probably was..
I opted to purchase a pepermint shrimp in hopes that it will keep the little ones at bay.. but so far, it's gone hiding in my rock.. I actually haven't seen it today...???
The one above may be too big.. so if this starts to be a problem I may have to plan alternate tactics.. but right now it likes one of my bottom rocks.. so I will have to get it to move.. (I'll try placing another rock over him to see if I can get him to move.)
But first I need to figure out what happened to my new addition...
Thanks again!!

Id let him get used to your tank. He may not want to be bothered while he is adjusting to you tanks ph, salinity, etc. give him a little time :D
