appropriate pump for precision marine

i recently bought a precision marine bullet one, used. It didn't come with the pump. I have been looking and precision marine recommends either the sedra 900 or the mag 12. I am trying to save a little money am wondering if anyone knows of other acceptable less expensive pumps that can be used with this skimmer. I have a rio 1400 which pumps 420g/hr. I don't believe that is nearly enough considering the mag 12 does 1200g/hr. I havn't set it up yet to try it out. It will be going on my 75g reef tank. I currently don't have a large bio load but will once i add a few more fish.

I don't think you are going to find a less expensive pump for that skimmer. The precision marine injector requires a pump that is pressure rated, so if you use a smaller pump it won't work well. This skimmer is similar to the AquaC design and they actually work better with larger pumps. My recommendation would be to watch the classified on SWF or other forums for a used pump.
