Im looking in to a new skimmer for my 46 g reef. I have no sump so has to be hob. Ive been interested in the aqua c but buddy at the lfs said that they make a tone of noise, he recommended the deltec. I currently have a red sea but im constantly adjusting it and think its about time to upgrade... I dont want my new skimmer to be to loud as the tank is in the living room and the red sea is as loud as i can probibly stand.
Which one should i go for?

Only problem i have with the deltic is that is 5" wide and i only have 3.75" behind my tank :bw:
The guy at the lfs said to remove all the water in the tank and save it except for the bottom 6" ( enough for the fish) and get some help to move it out, then replace all the water and every thing should be fine. I just dont want to do that be cause im paranoid somthing will happen. Do u think it would be ok to do that?

I have the deltec mce 600 on my 55 and I love it. Now, the product description says the MCE 600 is over 7" wide. The space between the tank and the wall is 5". The whole unit is over 7" wide, but 2" of that space is in the tank. It was awkward to get the unit in the tank, since I had to take the lights off to do it. It also might be an issue depending on how you have the lights on the tank.
