Aqua c remora ?

Ok, have had our aqua c for about a week. The question I have is, do you guys who use these shut off the skimmer before emptying the cup? I watch the yuk go back in the tank when I take the cup out (cant be good, can it?) The other ? is so you leave ur other powerheads running while skimmer is "breaking in?" seems there are alot of micro bubbles going round and round. I know some bubbles r expected but Im not too sure.We only have a electric scallop, LS, LR, shrooms and clean up crew in it so far.Thanx for any help!

I had Remora Pro thaat I retroed to run on my sump. I never stopped the skimmer unlwss I was taking it apart to clean. I am not sure what you what you mean when you say the gunk spills back into the tank. When I removed the collection cup on mine the bubbles would rise up and break at the top of the chamber. As far as the micro bubbles they should get better. Keep running the rest of your circulation powerheads. With any H.O.B. skimmer there is always a chance of some micro bubbles. You could try to place a small piece of sponce in the return outlet to break the bubble you just dont want to restrict flow with a large piece of sponge.
