AquaC Remora - how does it work?

I don't understand the skimmer..it really is not pulling any skimmate. It has been running for 2 weeks! I levelled it and have slowly raised the cup each day...I just see bubbles in the tube.
I have lr, ls and a clean up crew in the tank...it should be pulling something, shouldn't it?
I bought it used (5 mths old)...maybe I need to put a new(maxi-jet 1200) pump on it?

Raising it is not what is needed. You should lower the cup if no bubbles are flowing into the chamber of the cup. The bubbles would appear clear, but after 2-4 days of running, the collected skimmate in the cup would be brownish/green. It could also be you do not have a high enough of a bioload so the skimmer has nothing to pull out.

:thinking: You should LOWER the cup untill it gets to where you have to empty it often and then slowly a bit start raising it till you get a dryer foam.
