I just recently got a Remora and its currently breaking in.... The problem is that its wet skimming galore. Its just spewing out water like there is no tomorrow. I have the collection cup set all the way up, but doesnt help. Is this part of the breaking in process? Will it start producing some dry foam soon? BTW its been running for like 3 days.

I got a Remora about a week ago. The first day or so it did as you are describing more or less. The last couple of days it has produced foam in varying cycles. I have the cup set fairly high now. I'm pretty sure both our skimmers are still breaking in.

Well im glad to see that Im not the only one with this problem. Im fairly certain that this is part of the breaking in process, but it never hurts to double check :)

I've been running a remora for about 3 years now. If I remeber correctly it took about 3 weeks to a month before it was fully broken in and producing a good dry foam.

Do you think that using natural sea water would cause the skimmer to wet skim. Its taking out about a gallon of water every 20-30 min....

Do you have anything producing a bioload yet? IF you don't there really won't be much to skim

I have been running a Remora for just under 3 weeks. It is still making mostly wet foam but removing only a very small amount of water. I am new to skimmers. It seems they have somewhat of a personality.
