Aquacultured Live Rock

Hello,I was wondering if I could get some information about aquacultured live rock.I like the idea of saving our reefs,and so thought that live rock would be a good idea,however a pet store here in town says that it breaks down fast,and that he wont carry it till it's more perfected.Can someone out there give me some of their experience?

Making your own live rock.
Several groups have instructions online showing how to make live rock using aragrete. Add a seed stock to get them started. Good Actinic lighting and excellent alk calcium levels. And the seed stock will spread. Plus if you are going that direction look into aquacultured fish etc as well.
