Its time for new metal hallides and vho's. I'm trying to decide on the hallides, I'm thinking 14k or 20k. Any ideas?

It depends on how blue you want everything to look. 20K to me looks like actinic lighting and nothing else. I use 14K myself.

I'm looking for a blue look but I hear 20k were not the best for coral growth, how does your 14k look and how well do they do for growth?

Correct, 20000k shows nice color, but does not produce good growth according to experts. Are you just getting new bulbs?

10K has the best growth, but a very yellow hue. 12K is also very good for growth and a little bluer but not much different in color than the 10K.
14K has a noticeable blue hue and not as good of growth as the 10K. I HEAR (no experience) that 20K is very blue and almost no growth.
This is how I view it: On a tank with lots of frags, or a need to get the corals growing…I would go with the 10K -14K depending on how fast you want results. After you get the tank and corals where you want them and not need so much growth…go to the 20K. A frag tank IMO should have the 10K.
