aquarium stand problem

i have a 36 bowfront and almost everywhere i look dosent have a stand for one. there a ones for 26,46,72 bowfronts but no 36. there are some but they are real expensive so no reasonable ones. this may sound like a stupid question but could i just buy a 46 stand and use it for my 36? the reason i ask is that since the tank dosent get the support of the edges of the stand (so the 36 will be above no support since the support is all on the edges of the stand) will the stand crack in the middle. i really need a stand to get a sump and other equipment to hide so any ideas if this would be ok? thanks

I'm not sure as the 46 is an inch deeper (front to back) than the 36 so the 46 stand may not give good support. If you cut a piece of plywood to fit into the stand and then set the 36 on top of that, it would probably work.
Have you considered building a stand? Do you have the means or know someone who can help?

Get yourself a real heavy, thick piece of wood to create a top for the smaller stand and put your tank on that. It will create a lip but very functional. Paint it to make it match so it won't look like an eye sore.
I had a concrete planter I used as a stand...I used a good piece of wood for a top and had no problems...It was board that had thick layers so it wouldn't bow. Ask someone in the lumber yard, tell them what you want t use it for.

You might try this. Measure your tank as if it were a square and have your Home Depot cut a piece of 3/4" T & G Plywood that size. Take it home and place your tank on it. Trace the tank outline and then cut it with a jig saw.
THen you can use the smaller stand and screw the new plywood to the top of your stand. MAKE SURE IT IS EXACTLY CENTERED.

thanks for all the replies.
i like the idea of using the smaller stand and getting the wood cut to go on it. i might do that but first ill check if there is enough space underneath a 26 for me.
i was looking at the prices and a 26 stand is $80, a 46 is $100, and a 36 is $150. idk why a 36 stand is that much more expensive.
i just thought about if i got a normal stand that was 30" in length and although it would be square that will probably work fine. thats the way it is on my dresser and it looks fine.

so i found this 46 bow stand from *****. i know its ***** but its not fish or anything and it seems to be a good quality stand. so my 36 gallon might be able to work with this stand cause the description says the wood is supportive on the enitre stand top...not just the lip like other stands. and it got good reviews by most people. some even said they themselves used it for a 36 bowfront even though its for a 46.
if you could look at this link and tell me what you think

you might also want to ask for a manager and ask them if it is a typo or if they will cut you a deal. You never know what you can get just for asking.

lol i've actually tried that already and they didn't cut me any slack.
theres this huge sale+promotional discount on that 46 bow stand from ***** (online) where i can get that stand i mentioned above for only $90 (shipping included) this is rather than paying $145 normally. i might take this offer up. i know it is risky to put a 36 on a 46 stand but ill have me and my dad sit on it once i put it together to make sure its sturdy and good quality.

Well I build furniture.
If you want I could build you a very nice oak (or any other wood) cabinet, complete with electrical breakers and such installed but you probably wont like the price.

I just re-read that. I'm sure your dad will appreciate you volunteering his neutrally buoyant frame for stress testing.
