Aquascape idea

Hello all, I still come here as much as possible to admire everyones tanks. Still never set up another one since last year after the storm. I eventually will to busy w/ my dogs for now. But anyway I still get magazines and catalogs and while reading a article about aquascaping I thought of this. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and how to you think it would look and maintain. The idea is to set up the rock at one end of the tank and bring it towards the middle and have it slope or drop off like a reef. And you could set up PH's or wave machine at the far end so the movement would hit the rock. So you would end up w/a nice flat reef at the top and have a open area for swimming. Maybe a small few rocks away from it as outcrops. Anyway just an idea looking for opinions. Thanks

Sure! I have seen tanks set up like this before. Why not?
I have a 46g so I felt like it would look better if my LR was just layed out "normal" (one long strip).
But if I had a bigger tank, say 90 plus gallons (4 or preferably 5 feet long)... I might do two "hills" with a valley inbetween.

Yes, it would have to be at least 5feet IMO. And in regards to the one pile of rock it would be pretty clustered to the point you would not see through it at all. Just thought it would be diff. havent really seen it like that. I have seen the 2 diff. piles at each end of the tank.
