Aquatic life t5

I have a 65 gallon reef tank and purchased the aquatic life t5 dual bulbs. I purchased 3 sets for a 6 bulb set and linked them together. My question is they cover the entire top of my tank and I can't access my lids without removing the entire light set. Is this a common thing or what can I do. I looked at the hanging setup but my ceiling is way too high for it. I love the lights just don't like having to remove them to get into the tank.

What kind of lids do you have?? I had close to the same problem when I upgraded to a MH, T5, LED combo unit ( the thing is huge). But I was not able to access my versa-top glass lid. You know the one with the connecting plastic hinge. This weekend I was sick of having to take the whole light set up off to even put in an algae clip so I removed the plastic hinge. Now I just have the two glass tops that I can just pick up slightly and put one on top of the other and get in the tank a bit. You can't get fully in there but at least you can access it somewhat. Just an idea. How do you like the new lights?? What were you running before?

I have the same lids you describe. But I have gobys who like to jump out. Before I had a coral life compact system and it was just not cutting it. I absolutely love these new lights and from just a few days of em up and running my corals look 100 times better. I think for now I will just keep moving them off when I need to do something. Even though it is a pain in the rear.

I have the exact same lights - I also linked them together - I just lift them out of the way when I need to do something in the tank. Glass tops on SW tanks is not the best for the criters, I am sure someone else will chime in on that. But the lights are great - I put some new bulds in ATi Purple plus and super blue - amazing colors.
