get rid of the fake stuff. They are helping with your algae bloom. They hold in food and detrius not allowing your tank to cyle them out. You really need a lot more live rock. Build caves for your fish to hide in. This hobby is simple once you get started. It takes time and care. we are all here to help.
Top off your tank.

in my opinion I wouls stop adding the purple up, it raises your calcium high. What is you calcium level even at??? i bet if you are adding purple up everyday it is very high then.
I hope you are planning a tank upgrade because if those 2 tangs are in a 55 they will outgrow it very fast if they haven't already. My opinion is if you are going to keep 2 tangs in a tank then they should be kept in nothing smaller then a 120
Also don't dose your tank with anything that you cannot test for. Just my .02

i of corse have a calcium test kit its contains about 450 mg/L (ppm) and i do test it every few days i do not add the purple up every day on occasion i do for maybe 2 days in a row but not all the time the bottle says to add 1 capful to every 50 gallons i add a little under a cap full for a 55 gal tank so i dont over dose and in my own opinion i love the purple up i have been using it for over 5 months now and i have not had 1 problem also my husband is planning on buying me a a huge acrylic tank im thinking between a 180-300 gal for my birthday
also i think my anemone is splitting like 4 of his tentacles look like there are 2 tentacles growing out of one
and thank you carne0714 i will

Nice tank, clean and simple looking.
I'm not going to give you grief over your tangs.. I have 2 in my 90. I don't understand why you're using purple up (I assume coraline algae but that will come regardless on it's own with water changes) but if it's something you want to use by all means.
I'd love to have a big tank someday... ideally 400+ gallon tank... but for right now I'll just dream lol

thank you I had one I would like just coraline alge or my daisy polyps to grow uP the back of my glass also I was wondering why I have a layer or brown dust everywhere and how do I get rid of it and make it look less dirty my sand especially

I would just do a black background and let the corals grow on the glass. Once they cover it, take the background off.
Brown dust sounds like diatoms. How old is the tank?
