Hi Everyone.. I know this question has been asked TO DEATH... and I have been searching but cant find it!!
Anyway I am setting up my 90 Gal FOWLR (for now), want to move to corals later on.. anyway I am doing a 2" substrate bed. I just put in an inch of Aragonite... should I just add live sand to the top of this, or mix them in?? Nothing is in the tank now, other than the water (Just RO) and the aragonite.. I am waiting for my salt to arrive, and I will not be adding any LS until the temp and salinity are all correct.
Thanks!!!

Not sure of the kind.. do you mean brand? Or from a bag or from someones tank? Most likely from a bag, there arent really any stores around that sell it live other than bagged

Bagged "live" sand is worthless IMO. A cupful from the LFS holding tanks for their live rock or one of their displays would be fine. Also I believe SWF sells live sand as do some other internet suppliers. Also you will get some critters from any live rock you put in migrating to the sand to help kick start it.

Yea I mean I never thought that bagged live sand could be all that good either... if SWF.com sells Livesand, why is it different then any other bagged live sand?

It is cultivated from the ocean and is shipped in plastic bag with water and even has some critters in it. Flower recently purchased some from SWF.
