Are air bubles bad?

After reading some posts, and seeing a few bubble trapping products, it appears to me, air bubles are bad in the reef tank. Is this true, and why?

Air bubbles will get stuck on your coral and they do not like it at all. If at all possible do not have air bubbles floating around your tank.
