I have just bought a clown and anenome, that were "bonded" . My question is this, I did not look extreemely close at the clown ( deep orange with yellow stripes), and he has tiny white specks on him, more so on the mouth forehead are. Is this ick? He has settled in the anenome again, and just wallows around, I assume a normal behavior?? as opposed to itching in it....I can post pictures if it is needed.... Thank you..

Yep that sounds like ich. Do you have a hospital tank? The easiest way to treat it would be hyposalinity, lowering the salinty level to where ich can't live.

If it is ich, will it stay dormant in the anenome?? How do you treat that?
Can the tiny white spots be just "stings etc from settling in the anenome?
Beth??

another couple questions..
with the fish in there for only an hour or so, will the others get it? Does it float around or does it have to be fish to fish contact??
Thank you...

I really need to know if my main tank, exposed to iched clown for 1 hour will spred to the others, I can only hypo 1 tank, and once started, no fish can be added so I understand. Catching everyone else I hope will not have to be done, but if so I need to know now!! Thank you

I would not personaly chance it and would hospitalize all your fish and perform hypo for a minimum of 4 weeks,
As for the anemone, it will not contratct ich, but yourwater needs to be fishles for a month to kill off the parasite in the mian tank itself.
HTH and good luck

It is possible that the rest of your fish could have gotten ich as well, but as fshhub said you shouldn't chance leaving the fish in the main tank. The inverts can't carry the ich so you don't have to worry about the anemone carrying it. For the ich to completely die off I would leave the main tank fishless for 4-6 weeks. usually it takes a month to die off but just to be sure its gone.
