Are blue-eyed hermit crabs reef safe?

I have this blue-eyed hermit crab and he's a monster... i'm wondering if they are reef safe. I can't seem to find a lot of info on this species. If you have one, tell me about it.

I would say probably not. If he's really big he'll just end up knocking things over, plus he may prey on sleeping fish and other food sources simply due to his size.

From what I've heard, any hermits that appear to be hairy are generally not reef safe. Is your blue-eyed hairy?
IME, big hermits cause problems. They knock over corals and rocks, and I had one catch and kill a healthy scooter blenny right before my eyes.
The bigger the crabs are the more waste they're bound to consume, which is a very good thing, but I personally won't risk my livestock for it.

Large Hermits just cause problems. If nothing else take him to your local store and ask if you can trade him for a few smaller hermits.
Like the above posters said, large hermits will catch slow fish and knock over delicate rockwork.
