Are Metal Halides Really Worth It?

are MH's really worth it? Do they make that much of a difference?
I have FOWLR and want to start migrating to a reef, but the biggest cotst I see is lighting. I don't want to waste money but I do want a quality reef.

Metal halides play a big role in the success of a reef. If you are willing to invest in expensive livestock (corals) then you might want to get yourself metal halide especially if you wish to keep stony corals. Just my 2 cents.
