Are my lights too bright for my sun coral?

My sun coral only comes out when my lights shut off. It stays open until the next morning when the lights come on.
Do I need to glue a piece of rock slightly over the sun coral to shade it a little more or is this what they do? They are so pretty when they are out.

suns are nonphotosynthetic...
shade them and feed them at night when the polyps extend

I actually feed him everyday when my main powerhead goes off. Hes starting to learn this and come out slightly when that one shuts off. He eats but stays inside until the lights are out

They can be trained to come out during the day aswell... Get some Duncans... always open and look just as good... except for mine..they fell over during the night sometime..looks like I am going fishing..

Funny you say that because I just bought a duncan yesterday! your right they do look similar!
