Are my live rock and live sand dead?

During last week heat wave the power was gone at my building and I lost everything in the tank. I used to complain about how to get my tank cooler and actually went out and purchased a chiller. But the power went out while I was away for two days and when I got back I found a very nasty surprise. The temperature was arround 143 degrees in my room alone which is were I had the tank. All my corals and fish died and the tanks was so foul and dirty that I have to empty everything out. Now I only have the live rock and the live sand. I have made a couple of water changes but the water it's still cloudy and murky. Is this ok, is my live rock and sand still alive? Please advise because I need to know if I have to buy live rock and live sand again, not to mention the fish and corals.

Wow, 143 degrees?!?!?! Where do you live? I would think that all the little organisms that make live rock "live" wouldn't survive those extreme temps.

+1 on that , if the temp is correct everything should be gone.
