I just got some eagle eyes zoas on sunday, I acclimated them for 1 1/2 hours and then put them in the sand bed of my tank. They started to open up and the next day most of the polps were fully open (about 5 out of the 7). Now I look in my tank today and notice that two of the polyps aren't as green as other zoas Ive seen, they are starting to turn a little brown. It is in a 55 gal tank. I have 2x175w Metal halides and 2x55w t-5s. All of my parameters are good and this is also my first coral ive ever had. Any advice would be helpful. thanks

Well I do recall someone else saying that the other day and I thought it was attributed to lighting but you sem to have good lighting so i WILL JUST GIVE YOU ANOTHER BUMP

Well, that seems like a fair bit of light there, they might need longer to adjust to it if they came from a tank with much lower wattage PC lighting. My guess, though, is the acclimation time. You don't need to acclimate coral. In fact, it's worse, more stress, if you leave it sitting in the water it was shipped in for too much longer. The best thing is to temp acclimate for a very short time (15 minutes will be fine) and then toss it right in. They probably need some time to stop stressing from both the acclimation (and the shipping, of course), and the lighting. Give it a few days and they should start looking better.

+1. just give them some more time and let them get used to your tank. If they start dieing they will close up and literally start to look like they are melting.

Ok thanks. The tank they came from had the same lights as my tank, except in a smaller tank. Ill wait and see if they get better. As of right now, one of the polyps looks a little better.
