Think its tall enough?

Gonna use a planer on the top of the legs before I fasten the head piece on. That will make it sit nice and flush. I wonder if it might be too tall. It will be about 45" tall when Its all done. Add another 22" for the tank. The lights will hang from the ceiling. I wont have any kids running around to knock it over, but it is top heavy

Maybe I should add some end pieces at the bottom to give an extra 4-5 inches to the bottom's foot print. waddya think?

Just add a few links to shackle it to the wall???. No the lags wont hold if someone TRIES to tip it but the theory is that they will prevent it from ever leaning in the first place.
Yes it it tall, but not out of the norm. I would be more concerned with twist as you have little lateral support engineered for such a span without the sheeting.

I beefed it up considerably in the last few hours. Looks much stronger. Im going to add a couple more cross members on either end.

then skin it with sturdy plywood, and finally coat it with a nice skin of finish wood and stain it. on the outside, and add a nice thick layer of polyurethane inside. Good call on pointing out it could potentially twist. Makes perfect sense. Originally I was gonna skin it with finish wood...but now Ill first skin it with plywood to keep it from twisting.

I have a 120 an a 46" tall stand I thought the same thing till I filled it with water.... about 980 lbs of water pushing down.
I could not push it over if I wanted to
So no worries on that in my book

that's cool. Right now the whole thing sits pretty level. a couple places the bubble shifts just to the edge of the outer line, but most of the tank it sits right in the center. it just feels like its so weak to toppling. but its empty, so adding the water will greatly divert force downward.

Neptune, just out of curiosity, what car is that seat from?

my dads van. its a mid 90's model...one of those plush ******** ones. He took it out to make room inside. I like it because its a cool video game chair. It sits and balances just right, and you can adjust the back to your preference.

I know my tank is unlikely to tip over cuz it's been though a few earthquakes. For some reason I keep havng dreams of it falling over. Wat a nightmare.
