I have checked them during the day when they are all open. I did some reading on what could cause this and found out about Sundial snails. Found a BUNCH of snails out last night when the moon lights were on. Here is what they looked like, I didnt put there in there must have came on the live rock when I got it. Them seem to be nocturnal. Any ideas on what they are?
I have also noticed an abundance of those snails in my tank recently. All of my corals are okay though, but I am also curious as to what kind of snails those are.
They look like they could definitely be sundials. Just be persistent with removing them once you see them for the next few weeks. They are nocturnal as well. Make sure those cool zoanthids dont die!
those look like collinista snails...look the same as a sundial but with a brown shell pattern instead of black...and collinistas won't harm your corals..i usually have a lot of them as well but with no ill effects

i agree with bronco..those look like collinistas not sundial...good to have and won't bother anything..i have tons of them as well
definatly collinista.A very beneficial part of your tank.Sundial snails are more round like a dime and they have spikes comin out of the end of their shells. They use the spikes to punture the zooanthid ahd basically suck out its insides.I used to have some of those but they are easy to identify and get rid off.1 tip is always check any zooanthind rock you buy thoroughly before adding it to your tank.
