Asm G1/ G1x

Hello,
i am currently in the market for a skimmer and i think i like the ASM G1 or G1x. anybody know if i can use the G1 for external and not in sump? i am ordering a ae tech refugim and i want to maxium the space by having all my pumps, and skimmers external.
if not does any1 suggest a different skimmer?

Sorry....they are strickly internal or submersible skimmers.....they aren't sealed like other skimmers, and will probably seep a bit....But they are a good skimmer for the money.
