ASM Skimmer Questions?

Does anyone have an ASM G2 Skimmer or familiar with one? Just wanted to know how well these perform and what people thought about them. Also the G2 is listed at 21 1/4 inches tall. I have 25 inches of clearance. Does this leave me enough room to remove the collection cup for cleaning?

I have used, and continue to use, several ASM skimmers (a 2, a 3 and a 4x). I feel they are reliable and do a good job. In my experience you need only about an inch of clearance to easily remove the collection cup for cleaning.
I would suggest that you size it so that whatever the skimmer brand you buy is rated for 1.5-2x the amount of total water volume in your system.

dont own one but they seem to be falling out of favor for quality reasons. they dont seem to be made as good as they once were. in that range you can look into bermuda, aqua c, msx and octopus skimmers

How about Euro-Reef?

If have a sump, get the MSX 160. It is only $25 more than the g2 and will outperform it by a large margin. It is 23" tall, and only requires 1/2 " for cup removal.
