ASM skimmer

Hello everyone

If you have a ASM protein skimmer could you give me some feedback on them. I'm going to order the ASM G1x on Monday
& would like to hear from people that have ASM skimmers.
Good or Bad, doesn't matter. Trying to get a better feel on ASM.

I have an ASM-g1 and it has only been running about a day but I love it already. It had stuff rising to the top of the collection cup about 10 mins. after I started it up. Very nice set up. I know on other sites people swear by them. Very good skimmers. nice chooice. Dustin

Is the ASM- G skimmer noisy
My aquarium is in the Master bedroom & I'm a bit concerned about the noise level.

Tar.....I have several ( one 4x, one 4, and two 3's) on different set ups. They are excellent skimmers and work fairly well right out of the box. I personally feel that my return pump is noisier than the skimmers. Hope this helps.

i posted in your other thread that there are several mods you can do to increase the performance.
i dont use a asm though, i have a etts reef devil deluxe. you should check out the regular reef devil, its on sale for 189 and u can get a catilina 1800 pump for 30$ or a mag 7 for 65$ more... im really happy with my etts, im not sure if your set on the asm yet but i thought 189 was a great price for this skimmer...

Tarball, like said before, My asm skimmer doesnt make any noise, the sponge on the out let is awsome for not making any noise, My pump is next to silent as well, I have mine in a family room/dining room area and I cant hear anything from the system. They are awsome skimmers. Sure wish I had room in my bedroom for my tank. Some of us are just luckier then others huh

i run an ASMG-4 on my 180 i also did the mesh modification to the needlewheel and it really helped its performance

I run an ASM G2 on my 90G and it does a great job. I did the gate valve modification kit and used it for a while, but then I just took it off a few weeks ago. Anyway its a great skimmer.

I run a mini G on my 46 reef, and it works great, easy to adjust, and very quiet. It works circles around the coral life skimmer I have, well worth the few extra $.
