assimilation of found rock into reef

I have recently received two nice pieces of rock from the shore line of eastern Florida. A relative of mine sent them to me. They are two great pieces lots of nooks and holes. I would like to assimilate into my 55 gallon reef. What would be the best way of doing this. Should I wash, soak, rinse? Is there an additive or solution I could buy? thanks

I would rinse it alot before adding it into your tank. you would be suprised at what washes up on the beaches down here.

Hi there, If it was me I would start it out in a bucket of high salinity water with powerheads and a heater, after a couple of days do a partical water change to bring down the salinity. The higher salinity will kill any unwanted critters, after the water change leave in the bucket with powerheads and heater for a month or so. Lisa
