Astrea snail - half out of water

we were looking for our snail (hoover) and we found him cleaing the glass.. now he is like on the water line half out and half in..
is this ok for him to do so???

will have some cool pics if they turned out later

Yes, he is just checking out all his turf.

sweet he is moved little back down now.. but this is the time in about a week that he has gone on the glass..

Not sure if this is normal or not but mine do the same. And sometimes one in particular will actually look as though he is stuck to the glass and cannot get down but wants too. His body is stretching out of his shell like a piece of bubble gum all strung out. Its weird at first I thought he was sick or something but he has since made it down to the sand and continues to scan the tank for food. I call him sling shot.
