At witts end with ich

Been treating my ich for almost a month now in a QT with hypo. At first it wasn't going so well at 1.009 so I lowered it to around 1.004 and the ich is back.... I don't understand how it is still living in there. I doubt my glass salinity meter is that far off. Anyone ever have a tough time getting the ich to die with hypo?

it really can be off that much, you really should use a refractometer...i used to think that my hydrometter was on point then i got a refractometer....boy was i wrong...
GET ONE NOW!!!!!!!
and maybe you should try copper?

Your glass hydrometer might be off. THe one way to check it is to compare the reading to a calibrated refractometer.
There are strains of ich that are resistant to hyposalinity, so copper treatment might be your next line of defense.
There is no benefit to dropping salinity that far and don't leave it there. You have a small window of error but not quite that low. Check your hydrometer for accuracy. Also, you may need to leave the fish in hypo for a few more weeks. How long have the fish been in hyposalinty AFTER you saw no more symptoms? Have they been asymptomatic for any length of time?
What are the parameters in your Q tank?

Double check the SG at the LFS. Have you been closely monitoring your SG. 1.004 is too low. Your fish will get stressed. This site sells an excellent refractometer for $39.99. Hyposalinity is very effective but it needs to be done correctly. Please explain how you have done this procedure.
