Attaching a long polyp leather coral...

We got a long polyp leather coral over the weekend and we're having trouble placing it safely. We wanted it in the sandbed but it didn't seem to like that very much. It kept it's polyps in all the time...
So last night moved up onto the LR, much higher in the tank and when we got up this morning all it's arms were fully extended!! Yay! We found a good spot! However, here's the crux, the coral is attached to a smallish rock that we bought it with and at the moment is just loosely sitting on top of the LR - not very sturdy/safe if our clown or crabs decide to play in it. We're wondering the best way to secure it. We though tie wrap or rubber band but the LR it's on is rather large and before went through that struggle thought we'd ask the opinions of the wise one's here.

Thanks for any help!
