Attaching Toadstool Leather

I just picked up a Toadstool Leather, it is not currently attached to a rock. I am trying to attach it. I have read other posts about rubber bands, fishing line, glue, etc.. My question is how do I attached the stalk to the rock using rubber bands, the stalk is round?

Thanks, I took a look at the link but could you clarify something? It looks like the rubber band is in the middle, looks like it is squishing it. Wouldn't this damage/hurt the leather?

You have to make sure it is not too tight, just enough to hold the frag in place not cutting into the coral.
