Attention "chevytrks" and other Ribbon eel owners

Chevy, I saw your pic. of your ribbon eel it is awsome!!I really wan't to get one. What size tank is it in? What other fish are in with him? How did you get him to eat and what does he eat? Where did you get him? Any advice is needed. Do you have any more more pic. of the eel?

Ribbon eels are very difficult to keep. Most will not eat in captivity. They aren't cheap, and have a high rate of mortality. If you do decide to get one make sure that it is eating before purchasing. I perssonally would go for an easier speciman to keep. As with most eels if you do get one that is eating you can feed a varied diet of frozen shrimp, krill, silversides, and other sea foods from the grocery store.
